Our Story

Eumada is founded on the pursuit of a genuinely integrated, multidisciplinary consultancy where architecture, engineering, and sustainability are brought together in a way that actually serves the architect’s vision. It comes from caring deeply about architecture and about what buildings can be. We want to work alongside architects who share that care, and build a team around people who feel the same way.

The name reflects the thinking. Eu — from the Greek, meaning good, well, right. Omáda — team. Good team. We believe if you get that one thing right, everything else takes care of itself.

Every engagement starts with your challenge, not our standard service. We work backwards from what you need to achieve, structuring our scope, team, and delivery around the specific demands of your project.

We anticipate problems before they become yours. Rather than waiting to be asked, we flag risks early, coordinate proactively across disciplines, and act decisively — so issues are resolved in design, not on site.

We apply first-principles thinking to every brief. We question assumptions and keep working until the right solution is also the simplest one — technically sound, buildable, and clear to everyone involved.

Dr. Belarmino Cordero founded Eumada and leads its strategic direction, business development, and innovation agenda.

His career bridges architecture, engineering, academia, and industry — always with sustainability at the core — across projects in Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, for clients including Foster + Partners, Calatrava, and UNStudio. He has led the development of statutory thermal guidelines and serves as subject matter specialist in complex construction litigation cases.

He holds a PhD in Architectural Construction and Technology from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (with research at Cambridge University) and an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering from UCL. His research received EPSRC and IStructE funding and led to filing an international patent application in insulating glass technology.

Belarmino Cordero

Dr. Mercedes Gargallo leads Eumada's operations and quality framework, ensuring the practice scales without compromising the standards it is known for.

Her technical background spans façade engineering, building technology, sustainability, and site supervision — a breadth that directly informs how she structures and governs a multidisciplinary practice. While at Arup, she was the lead writer of the façade section of the Dubai Building Code.

She holds a PhD in Architectural Construction Technology. Her work has been recognised with the International Award for Façade Engineering Excellence (2016), the Zak Awards (2024), and an SFE Innovation Award (2024). She is a member of the RIBA and the SFE Middle East Hub Committee.

Mercedes Gargallo

Dimitrios leads Eumada's acoustics practice, bringing expertise in building acoustics, noise control, and vibration transmission across the Middle East, the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

His portfolio spans residential, hospitality, educational, healthcare, entertainment, and commercial projects, with particular depth in complex mixed-use developments and high-end hospitality.

He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and the Middle East Acoustic Society.
